Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which GPT Assistant collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the GPT Assistant Discord bot ("Bot").

Data Collection Specifics

GPT Assistant collects Discord IDs and display names for account and subscription management, along with settings and any personal API keys you previously supplied. If you opt into the newsletter, we also store your email address.

The website uses a first-party cookie containing a random browser-session token, which expires after 24 hours. We store that token with website page views and link clicks to measure whether a Top.gg landing leads to an invite click. The token contains no Discord account details and is not linked to your Discord user. These event records may remain after the cookie expires; reports show aggregate counts.

Data Retention and Deletion

We store account settings, Discord IDs and display names, voting timestamps, subscription references, archived credit balances, and usage records (message ID, time, model, tokens, cost, and request status). Active chat context is held in memory, and /chat also saves a bounded conversation context so a session can recover after a restart. The saved context contains the recent chat turns needed for that session; it is not used as a general message archive. The /data command removes your account and saved settings, stops active chats, and clears saved chat context. Voting, usage, and payment records may remain where operational, fraud-prevention, or legal retention requires it; contact support with a broader deletion request. Deleting an account does not cancel a Stripe subscription.

Data Security Measures

Saved personal API keys are encrypted at rest. Requests include the messages, custom instructions, and file or link excerpts needed to generate a reply. Avoid sending secrets or information you do not want processed by the model provider.

Third-Party Data Sharing and Disclosure

AI requests may pass through a model gateway to providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter. Links shared for context may be fetched through Jina. Stripe processes subscription payments, top.gg reports votes, and GoatCounter provides website analytics. These services apply their own policies to data they process.

User Rights

Use /settings to manage instructions and remove saved API keys, or /data to remove your account. For a copy of your records or a broader deletion request, contact support at [email protected].

Changes To This Privacy Policy

GPT Assistant has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will post a notification on the main page of our Site, revise the updated date at the top of this page and send you an email. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.
